Value Stream Mapping

With the ever-increasing pressure and requirement to improve processes and reduce costs across all industrial sectors, Value Stream Mapping is a powerful enabler in identifying and addressing these valuable opportunities in any organisation’s processes. In particular, it focuses on pinpointing waste in processes. Waste is anything that impedes the flow of a product or service as it is being transformed in the value chain. A Value Stream Map is defined as all the actions (both value added and non-value added) required to bring a product/service through the main process flows essential to each.  A Value Stream Mapping exercise facilitates the visualisation and realisation of a future state Value Stream based on comparison with the current state by eliminating the identified wastes.
