  • Principal Environmental Auditor
  • Environmental Auditor
  • Lead Environmental Management System Auditor
  • Environmental Management System Auditor
  • Associate Environmental Auditor


IEMA Points

  • 0-5 Academic qualifications
  • 0-5 Professional qualifications
  • 0-10 Training
  • 1 point every 5 days relevant experience of environmental auditing (points also available for related work, see “non-core” and “complementary” work in appendix for examples)


IEMA Registration Entry Levels

  • Associate Environmental Auditor 10 points – including either points from completion of an IEMA approved training course on Auditing or EMS  or 25 days on the job training.
  • Environmental Auditor 30 points and a minimum of 100 days of activity from appendix 1, of which a minimum of 20 must be core auditing work
  • Principal Environmental Auditor 50 points and a minimum of 200 days of activity from appendix 1, of which a minimum of 100 must be core auditing work, 7 audits conducted as lead auditor


IEMA Environmental Management Systems Auditor Registration Entry Levels

  • EMS Auditor – 20 days EMS auditing
  • Lead EMS Auditor – 35 days EMS auditing – 3 audits as lead auditor
